About

Hi, I'm Rithik.

I'm a content creator and entrepreneur based in Singapore. I make content on food, city life and everyday moments here, mixed with sharper takes on economics, business and language. I've been at it since 2019, and what started as a YouTube channel turned into a career that runs through reality TV, radio, print, brand partnerships and public speaking, alongside the agency I founded.

The long version

How I got here

  1. 2019 · The start

A YouTube channel and a backing vocal

I started making videos in 2019 with no particular plan. That same year I appeared as a backup singer on Mediacorp Vasantham's Yaar Antha Star. It was my first time on a television set, and the first hint that the internet thing and the broadcast thing might eventually be the same thing.

  2. 2021 · Talking, not just filming

    Pakka Mass, a Tamil podcast

I started Pakka Mass, a Tamil-language podcast, and ran it for a stretch before putting it down. It taught me more about structuring an argument than anything I'd made up to that point, and I've been quietly planning its successor ever since.

  3. 2022 · Print

    A column in Tamil Murasu

In February 2022 I was featured in Tamil Murasu, Singapore's Tamil daily. Being read by an audience that doesn't scroll is a different discipline entirely.

  4. 2023 · Radio, and the beginnings of an agency

Oli 96.8FM, and the start of Zap Creations Media

An interview on Oli 96.8FM put me in front of a live radio audience. Around the same period I started taking on content work for businesses on the side, quietly at first, which is where Zap Creations Media began.

  5. 2024 · A busy year on television

Yaar Antha Star, Vivegam, and a run of brand work

I returned to Yaar Antha Star, this time as a contestant rather than a backing vocal, and competed on Vivegam, Vasantham's general-knowledge game show. Tamil Seithi ran a feature in July. Off-screen, the brand collaborations picked up properly: Esplanade's Kala Utsavam, the Amaran film promotion, the U1 concert.

  6. 2025 · Range

Back on Oli, and the work I'd never have predicted

Another feature on Oli 96.8FM in May. And a stretch of campaigns of a kind I'd have found unbelievable in 2019: AR Rahman's Le Musk, Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Singapore, Royal Enfield, Evolve MMA, Prism+.

  7. 2025 · Made official

    Zap Creations Media, registered

After two years of running it on the side, I registered Zap Creations Media properly. Content strategy, production and social management, on monthly retainers.

  8. Now

    Building two things

Zap Creations Media, and Rithinking My Life, the podcast and newsletter.

Beyond the work

Things I do when the camera's off

Training

Martial arts and the gym. Not because I'm especially gifted at either. Because showing up for years is the only skill that transfers to everything else.

Languages

English, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Chinese (Mandarin). Linguistics is the through-line in a lot of my content: how a language shapes what its speakers find easy to think.

Reading

Economics, philosophy, and computer science, in roughly that order. The data science degree gave me the tooling; the reading gives me the questions worth pointing it at.
